- As many of you may know I have been struggling with Crohn's for a couple of years. If you are not familiar with Crohn's; it is an autoimmune disease affecting my digestive tract and joints. Since I am one in a million, I have not responded to the battery of medicines.
- My medicines are Immunosuppressive drugs that inhibit and prevent the activity of my immune system.
- I have started out with a bang, diarrhea bug, flu-like symptoms, lost voice and fever... Since I am sick I cannot get my meds, if I cannot get my meds, the Crohn's gets worse. A vicious cycle.
- So I am taking a leave of absence to get well, so I can take Remicade. Couldn't go last week, can't go this week, so cross your fingers by next Thursday it will be in my veins.
- Then I can reevaluate.
J is for Job,
- "A Job Worth Doing is a Job Worth Doing Well."
- Being a preschool teacher during this time as been a beacon of light during my darkest days,
- Your children deserve 100% and right now I am not able to give 100%
W is for Wonder Woman a.k.a Ms. Susan
- You are in capable hands with Ms. Susan.
- She will continue to amaze you and your kids (just ask her to dance! NOT to sing)
- We are a great team and will continue to be a team with me out.
- I will still plan all the lessons and Susan will deliver.
S is for Sad
- I apologize that you were expecting me to do this job. I may return quickly. Only time and rest can tell.
- I miss teaching at SMEEP especially the fellowship of St. Mark and my partner in crime Ms. Susan.
- I have agonized over the decision to take a leave and in the end I have to focus on my health and getting well, so I can get back to school!
