Letter of the week:

  • We will use the Letter People to teach beginning phonics.  Each week a new Letter Person will come to school and the class will concentrate on that letter sound.

Literature:

  • We will use a wide variety of children's literature relating to each letter and weekly theme.
Math:

  • We will focus on counting skills, patterns, daily calendar, estimation, and graphing.
Writing:

  • We will use Handwriting Without Tears to strengthen fine motor skills while learning letters.
  • We focus on many skills to further fine motor coordination like cutting, gluing, play-doh, and also name writing practice.
